In this fast-paced and exciting area of our business, you will be given the responsibility to develop and manage product categories through detailed market and consumer behaviour analysis.
Our buyers bring the most exciting products to our shelves and help us deliver great value to customers.
What you'll do
- Completing regular competitor and assortment analysis and product group comparisons
- Tasting and conducting quality checks in consultation with the Quality Assurance department
- Upholding agreed quality standard with supply partners
- Negotiating and building relationships with national and international suppliers with an emphasis on local sourcing
- Planning promotional activity, taking into account product seasonality, promotional budget, KPIs and competitor offers
- Collaborating with the Marketing team to drive campaigns, review publications and regular promotional activity and ensure alignment with overall business objectives
- Setting and reviewing retail prices on a regular basis
- Personnel responsibilities within the buying area
- Recruiting and developing team members
- Playing a key role in target setting and KPI management
- Regular presentations to senior management
What you'll need
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in buying / food & beverage industry is required
- Category management experience is beneficial
- Fluent German is an advantage
- Third-level degree is essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Confident, motivated and can work independently
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Driving licence is essential
