We are looking for an enthusiastic, pro-active and agile media expert to lead media planning and buying at Lidl Ireland and Northern Ireland. This role has breadth from strategy to implementation; responsible for setting channel strategy, managing and optimising the media mix of brand and trade campaigns, as well as the budget controlling of the media department.

What you'll do

  • Driving media strategy at Lidl Ireland and Northern Ireland, working with our agencies and internal stakeholders to develop effective media strategy, media implementation and media buying.
  • Develop and maintain key working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and representing media in senior meetings up to board level and international teams.
  • Actively maintaining contacts and relationships with media owners and industry stakeholders.
  • Lead optimisation of media plans and improve efficiencies, working with internal teams, media agency, creative agencies and auditing.
  • Effective monitoring and reporting for national and international stakeholders.
  • Manage substantial budget planning and controlling across all paid channels.
  • Responsible for media compliance and media related legislations.
  • Operational oversight of the Media team, allocation of team resources and management of timelines.
  • Responsible for the development and motivation of team members.

What you'll need

  • Extensive experience in media planning, preferably with a media agency background or fast-paced client-side role.
  • Strong knowledge and experience working on ATL and BTL channels, specifically TV and Online.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in closely related field.
  • Exposure onboarding new agencies/clients and managing a tendering process is an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence effectively up to board level.
  • Experience of managing and allocating significant budgets and monitoring return on investment.
  • Capability to balance both short- and long-term priorities, multi-tasking and handling conflicting deadlines.
  • Proactive, inquisitive nature with an unwavering eye for detail.
