Life at Lidl
Benefits for You
At Lidl we are committed to looking after you not only at work, but also in your personal life. That’s why we take your health and wellbeing very seriously. For us, your wellbeing includes your physical wellbeing, your mental wellbeing and your financial wellbeing.
This means that when it comes to your benefits package, we mean more than just the competitive salaries we offer. It encompasses a range of benefits that reward the hard work and commitment of our teams and look after your wellbeing from the moment you join us at Lidl.
Your Development and Career
We’re fully dedicated to your personal and professional development. We’re constantly expanding and improving the scope of our training courses and development tools to help you to be the best you can be in your role, support your future progression within Lidl and help you reach your professional potential.
Work-Life Balance
Maintaining a work-life balance really does have its benefits. At Lidl we strive to help our employees maintain this balance and it is hugely important to us. With this in mind, there are specific topics that we believe will guide you to achieving the all-important work-life balance.
Wellbeing at Lidl
At Lidl, your wellbeing is important to us and we understand that at times you might need further support or advice. That’s why all employees have access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provided by Laya. The EAP is a free and confidential information and counselling service, available to you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Accessing the EAP is simple:
Call 1800 911 909 for free on to speak to a counsellor or an information support specialist.
What the EAP can help you with:
There is no limit to what you can discuss with Laya and unlike many helplines, the EAP is not just here for life’s crises. Everyday issues such as the stresses of organising a wedding, moving house and even childcare can raise questions. Other topics can include managing money, relationships, family life, alcohol and drugs, legal advice and much more. So whether you'd like advice on a problem you're facing, or support with managing anxiety, you can rest assured that help is on hand for any in-the-moment support you may need.
Diversity and Inclusion at Lidl
The companies of the Schwarz Group embody diversity and are consciously committed to equal access to opportunities, equity, and inclusion. In #teamlidl and more than 30 active Lidl countries, we champion diversity each day, contributing to an open and tolerant society. People are at the centre of everything we do. Our diverse workforce reflects our diverse customers and business partners, creating a culture of belonging – in the companies of the Schwarz Group, in #teamlidl, and beyond. We welcome the diversity of their values, perspectives, and experiences. Our view of diversity, equity and inclusion mirrors our values: respect and belonging guide our daily actions, ensuring everyone feels welcome at #teamlidl.
Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) strategy is a core part of who we are and how we operate. Here’s an overview of our approach:
Our Commitment to DE&I
We embrace diversity as a strength, recognising that different perspectives drive innovation and growth.
We practice equal treatment throughout our value chain – from our business partners and our colleagues all the way to our customers.
We strive to foster an inclusive environment where every individual feels respected and valued.
Our DE&I Values in Action
Inclusive Hiring Practices: We ensure fairness and transparency in recruitment, and work to actively attract diverse talent.
DE&I Policy and Supporting Policies: We continuously review our policies to ensure that they are as inclusive as possible, our commitment is to support our teams at every stage of life.
Employee Resource Groups: We encourage employees to connect, share experiences, and create a sense of belonging through a number of interest groups which are led by senior leaders within the business.
Ongoing Education & Awareness
We raise awareness through our company values and principles, our leadership principles, and Compliance Rules of Conduct.
We have a designated DE&I resource hub available to our colleagues, this gives them access to DE&I information, including resources, DE&I related reports and a calendar with upcoming diversity awareness days.
We host guest speakers and panel discussions to promote open dialogue on DE&I topics.
We celebrate awareness days internally through telling our colleagues’ stories and experiences.
Within our continuous listening strategy, we welcome feedback from colleagues at all levels to improve our DE&I initiatives.
